We will visit the variegated south slope of the volcano, a natural terrace on the Catania plain, where the landscape has acquired, in the millennia, a variegated charm, with the numerous side cones covered with thick woods, which are sometimes invaded by sour lava flows that shape the Etna landscape.
The area was affected in 2001 from an imposing lateral eruption, which damaged this slope.
We will see and cross the solidified lava river that destroyed part of the tourist area.
We will continue our visit reaching alava flow cave,example of the fascinatingunderground world of Etna.
